THE Italian manufacturers had several new and sexy looking motorcycles at the Milan show last week, including this Hypermotard concept bike from Ducati.
Featuring a 1000cc motor taken from the Multstrada model, making a claimed 100bhp, plus beefy 50mm Marzocchi forks, Brembo braking and a 'beaky style front bodywork section, the Hypermotard could be a competitor to machines like the Aprilia Tuono, or KTM 950 SM.
The bike is also light in weight, at just 175kgs dry, and its top class chassis should give it precise and agile handling, whether riding urban streets or twisty mountain roads.
Many smaller Supermoto bikes fail to attract rider interest as they are simply too slow, but perhaps this big bruiser can capture the imagination of older sportbike owners, looking for a feisty alternative?
Ducati are canvassing opinions from riders before considering full scale production in 2007.
