Sheene was the last British rider to win the World Championship title on two wheels, way back in 1977.
Superstars
Incredibly, no Brit rider has come close ever since and for many bikers over 40, Sheene remains one of the truly great superstars of motorcycling, who raised biking's profile in the UK, prompted long overdue changes in shambolic track safety and managed to win plenty of races too.
Some of this 70s glamour and heritage is bound to push the price of the two bikes into the £50,000-£60,000 area, possibly more, but there are plenty of other classic racing machines on sale - plus beautifully restored bikes at the show - that will make the trip south worthwhile for old bike fans.
