A fun machine for the weekend

HYOSUNG: Roadster
HYOSUNG: Roadster
HYOSUNG is a brand you might not be familiar with, but it is one of the bigger motorcycle and scooter manufacturers in the Far East and is moving into making larger motorbikes.

For some years Hyosung has used Suzuki-designed engines in its 125cc cruisers, and over the last two years has produced a GT250 and GT650 V-twin.

Now it has produced this Roadster variant on the GT650R sports-tourer, which is dubbed GT650X.

The GT650X features a trellis-type frame, 650cc V-Twin motor, emissions catalyser hidden beneath the engine, with a MotoGP-style end can, braced swingarm rear suspension and a more upright riding position than the sporty GT650 is able to provide.

It looks like a fun weekend bike and would probably make an ideal first timers machine for many novice riders who have just passed their test.

There's no word on price yet, but E P Barrus (who import the Hyosung brand in the UK) reckon it will be competitive with class leading machines like the SV650 Suzuki, Hornet 600 or Kawasaki Z750.
