WHY buy an exotic, £12,000 Italian superbike, spend another £900 to £1,500 per year on insurance, servicing costs etc. when you can hire one for just £90 per day?
Wayne Smith of Bolton had the same thought, which is why he set up New Horizons Motorcycle hire in Bolton recently. The idea is simple, you book an MV Agusta F4 superbike - complete with 860cc big bore kit and dripping with carbon fibre - or perhaps a touring VFR800, with all the Givi luggage, and then enjoy a few summer weekends, or a week's biking, without all the hassles of ownership.
The MV Agusta is only available to the over 35 age group, and costs £90 per day, or £395 for a week. Full EU area breakdown cover is included, but there's a £3,500 excess on the insurance if you drop the bike - so go steady.
A more sedate Honda VFR800, CBF600 etc. can be ridden by anyone holding a Full category bike licence for two years, and costs £75 per day. The New Horizons fleet also includes the Ducati 748 and the Yamaha R1 models. There's free delivery and pick up within 60 miles radius of Bolton too. You can see the fabulous MV Agusta at the D-Store on Portland Street, Manchester.
This is a plan which could suit some occasional riders, or those who want to do a tour. Find out more at newhorizonsbikehire.com
