Something different for Xmas - Stilton ice creamStilton cheese has long been a festive favourite - but it's now on sale in the form of ice cream. It is described as the perfect accompaniment to Christmas mince pies. The calorific treat is a mixture of blue Stilton and double cream, with an optional almond garnish. According to the Stilton Cheese Makers Association, the ice cream "marries perfectly" with mincemeat. Association secretary Nigel White said: "Stilton ice cream and mince pies is the perfect twist this Christmas, as people are so used to the same old traditional dishes that dinner parties over the season tend to be a little boring." The ice cream can also be eaten as a starter or enjoyed with biscuits. It can be made at home or ordered for same-day delivery from Churchfields Farmhouse in Salwarpe, Worcestershire, for £4.50 per litre or £7.60 per two litre tub, plus VAT. The website address is www.churchfields-farm.co.uk. The Stilton Cheese Makers Association represents six dairies in England.
