Bookies braced for flurry of white Christmas bets White Christmas on the cards?Coral announced that its current odds of 3-1 for snow on Christmas Day in London are the shortest they have ever offered in November. The bookmaker said it was expecting a rush over the next month, and also has odds of 15-1 on the UK experiencing a record low temperature this winter. Elsewhere, William Hill has odds of 9-2 on a white Christmas in London, with Aberdeen coming in at 7-2, Glasgow at 4-1 and Cardiff at 6-1. Paddypower.com said its odds were 3-1 for snow at Heathrow Airport on Christmas Day, 4-1 for Manchester Airport and 3-1 for Glasgow Airport. Coral Spokesman David Stevens said some weather forecasters had said there was a 60% chance of snow in the capital on December 25. "In theory it should be odds on," he added.
