FACTFILE for Bez - Manchester's superstar of the streets.

Name: Mark 'Bez' Berry

Age: Having lasted longer than you'd have thought possible, older than you'd imagine.

From: Little Hulton

Occupation: Mover and a groover.

Big break: One night in the Hacienda Shaun Ryder persuaded Bez to join the Happy Mondays on stage. The rest is history.

The Rock n Roll Rollercoaster: Bez recorded five-albums with the Happy Mondays before the band crashed under the weight of drug abuse and debts. The most successful album was Pills 'N' Thrills 'N' Bellyaches which made it to number four in the UK album charts. When Mondays' front-man Shaun Ryder returned to the stage with Black Grape in 1995, Bez was there to shake his maracas.

Current activities: Since Black Grape dissolved Bez has popped up from time to time at musical events in Manchester and London doing DJ sets. Most recently he took part in the music quiz at In The City 2004, joined ex-Clash front-man Mick Jones on stage at Night & Day, and has recorded a solo album produced by Shaun Ryder.

   I agree, he seems to be the only genuine person in there. Feeling very sorry for him, they're all a bunch of health nuts. I'd give him the cuddle he seems to want so much, and keep him company in the early hours!!!
