Morrissey prefers to stay south
MANCHESTER original Morrissey is to make his first UK live appearance for almost three years in London.The lugubrious former Smiths man will play two dates at the Royal Albert Hall next month, following gigs in the States and Japan. But I'm told there are no plans to make a return trip up north.
"As far as we're aware it's just the two in London," snaps a tour spokeswoman. "As to whether he'll be doing anything else, I really couldn't tell you. There are no plans."
The Diary knows Manchester has changed radically since the LA-loving warbler last lived here - but can he really have forgotten the way?
