UMIST George Begg building is one of many 1960's academic buildings visible from the Mancunian Way. On the left is the extension of the original building which became UMIST. In 2004, the merger of UMIST and Manchester University means that these letters will soon be replaced, and the area in front of us will be known as North Campus, i.e. north of the Mancunian Way.
