In 2004 a Mancunian musician and singer returned from California to promote his album 'You are the Quarry'. The Morrissey billboard ads were seen in Manchester for a few weeks around August before being replaced. The ad is mounted a giant 'M for Manchester' part of scheme by Manchester City Council and the Manchester City Centre Management Company. The UMIST tower rises up behind - the UMIST letters and shield will soon be replaced by the new Manchester University logo. This flyover was completed in 1992.
