New signs point to the westbound slip road on the southern side of the Mancunian Way at the A6, here named Downing Street. Signs indicate the Ring Road, i.e. the Mancunian Way not the M60. The larger tourist sign indicates Arena, i.e. the MEN Arena, the Printworks, Castlefield and Peter's Fields, unheard of tourist destinations until just a few years ago. These road signs put up in 2004 should last years, but the Morrissey advert on the left will soon disappear, to be replaced by ads for washing powder and mobile phones.
