Looking west along the Mancunian Way from Ardwick not far from Ardwick Green, the 1992 flyover rises up and curves to the left across the A6. Before construction of the Mancunian Way this was Tipping Street. Just beyond the bend is the white concrete tower of UMIST, which in 2004 was merged with Manchester University.
