The Mormon Temple Chorley overlooks the M61 motorway 27 miles (43km) north of Manchester. On the top of the spire is a gold figure holding a scales. It's the largest Mormon temple outside Salt Lake City, and looks as if it has been lifted out of Utah and dropped in the middle of Lancashire by a giant helicopter.
