St Augustine's Anglican Church Pendlebury dates from 1874 and was built in an area of industry and mining. LS Lowry was fascinated by it. Today the economic viability of the area has declined, the congregation has dwindled and the building is at risk. St Augustine's Church is highly regarded for its architecture and historical significance, but its future is uncertain.
