Demolition can signify a new beginning.  Here in the north Manchester suburb of Blackley, former council-owned tower blocks are being torn down to make way for the Lakeside development, which offers attractive and affordable new homes.  In many parts of the UK, tower blocks are being either removed or renovated. What's important is that after years of blight, former run down areas are being given a new lease of life.
