Due to declining numbers of children, many schools in Manchester and other UK cities have been closed and knocked down.  This was St Vincent de Paul High School, on Denison Rd, Victoria Park, previously named Pope Pius X.  I went to nearby Xaverian College.  We sometimes saw - and got into fights with - kids from 'Pius' on our way home. Return visits to places of education can bring back happy and not so happy memories.  That won't be possible in the case of this school, though I don't imagine many will have been sorry to see it go. Victorian style apartments by Bellway Homes have since appeared on the site.
