Walkden Town Hall belonged to an earlier generation of local government buildings, some formerly used a private homes. In 1974 Walkden became part of the Cify of Salford whose administrative centre is in Swinton. Walkden Town Hall was demolished in 1999, providing extra parking space at Walkden College.
