This detail is from a building which stood on
Piccadilly near the top of Market Street. It appeared around 1910
and is in the style of an Indian Palace. Towers visible on
pre-war photos had disappeared by the late 40s, but the facade remained
remarkably well kept. In one of my first Eyewitness in Manchester
articles around 1997. I suggested it could be renovated. In 2002
it was unexpectedly demolished.
