The office building No 1 Piccadilly Gardens and the concrete pavilion next to it have transformed this part of Manchester, in my opinion for the worse. Many think these structures should never have been built. They occupy positions number 1 and 2 on my personal demolition X-list, not for bad design but inappropriate siting.  I predict that like the Hulme Crescents, the Magistrates Courts and the Salford University tower, they will be gone within three decades.  Keep visiting Eyewitness in Manchester to find out if I'm right.
