The Beehive Mill was one of the
first warehouses in Ancoats to undergo renovation. The name
Sankeys Soap written in large letters at the top, refers to a night
club, not a soap factory. Scenes from the film '24 Hour Party People'
recreating the Hacienda night club were filmed in Sankeys Soap. In the
space of 5 years very little has changed, at least from this viewpoint.
Even when all around is changing some things remain the same. The hump
back bridge goes over the former canal arm which is to be reinstated.
