We are looking north along the
A6 Stockport Road towards the traffic lights at Albert Road. In 2001
the building on the right was under construction. By 2005 it has
blended in with the neighbouring buildings. There are some changes to
the lane markings as part of the 'Quality Bus Corridor' scheme. Again
the most obvious change in the streetscape is the replacement of the
street lamps. The new lamps with their contemporary design -
either eye-catching or an eyesore, depending on your point of view -
have been put up closer together, creating a more cluttered effect than
the functional and more discreetly coloured older lamps.
