In 2002 I commented on the Levenshulme pub's higgledy-piggledy letters, which echo the crooked letters on the Gorton Levenshulme sign one mile to the north. Soon after I took the photo, the pub received a make-over. The crimson has been replaced by dark green, and the name of the pub has been painted in discreet and perfectly aligned gold letters. The lamp post formerly in front of the pub has been resited.  All in all the pub probably looks closer to how it looked in years gone by. It would be interesting to check in the Local Studies image collection to see if there is a photo of the pub in years gone by.
