1260: Panorama of Manchester Cathedral and Deansgate

Demolition of Shambles West continues behind the scaffolding on the right. The new M&S building can be seen in the centre, with the ugly Arndale Tower protruding above it. The Cathedral is on the left. Just in front of here used to be a concrete footbridge which was recently removed.

To make this picture I took two photos - one with the flash and one without and blended them together using layers in Photoshop.

1267: Two vertical panoramas, Gorton Monastery - Church of St Francis

This pair of vertical panoramas give an unusual view of the ceiling of the church. The altar has been badly damaged, though the ceiling - out of reach of thieves and vandals - is in good condition.

This image shows slight "barrel" distortion. This could have been reduced by photographing from a greater height using the zoom lens.
