638: Ringley Bridge, Kearsley
This is the magnificent Ringley
Bridge, spanning the River Irwell at Kearsley. If this was Oxfordshire, the
Cotswolds, or Ironbridge Gorge, it would be a major tourist attraction.
The scene is spoilt by the high tension power lines which pass directly
over the bridge. With their crackling noise, you just can't ignore them.
I decided not to remove them from the picture. Why did they allow this
ancient spot to be ruined by electicity cables? See also 639
