It's hard to believe we are above Piccadilly, but the 300mm lens compresses the distance. The 19th century mills of Ancoats fill the lower half of the picture, while the futuristic, helmet-like form of the Velodrome rises up behind. In the distance, we can see Hyde and nearby hillside suburbs including Gee Cross
