THE AMBASSADOR CINEMA, Langworthy Road Salford was in mid-2000 scheduled for demolition but in October it was saved. Many cinemas have sadly been lost but new ones are under construction. A 163 YEAR OLD FORMER WIRE WORKS IN ANCOATS is being demolished after a fire. In this building, the first transatlantic cable was probably made.
