BRIGHTER WEATHER AFTER A RAINY WEEK

Early trains to Blackpool and the west coast had empty seats, but Isle of Man and North Wales bookings were heavy. Hundreds were travelling to Ireland. Rainy weather dominated the earlier part of the week, including the Test Match at Old Trafford. Meteorologists say Manchester is getting the worst of the rainy spell because wind carries mosture which condenses as it travels west over the Pennines.
