Evening Primrose

Some research has shown that evening primrose oil may help people with a varying range of illnesses, although the benefits are not proven. Symptoms which are thought to be lessened by evening primrose oil are : Premenstual syndrome - may lessen symptoms of depression. Chronic inflammation, allergies and bronchial asthma Skin conditions such as acne, eczema and ulceration. Multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis Obesity Complications of diabetes mellitus Immune depression dyslexia ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) Only two products containing evening primrose are available by prescription on the NHS. These are for the treatment of eczema and mastaglia. Taking the medicine may have adverse side effects. These range from headaches, nausea and diarrhoea.
