Best starter home: Debut, Buckshaw Village

DEBUT: Best starter home
DEBUT: Best starter home
AN economic and stylish solution to providing homes that first- time buyers can afford. A lot of off-site construction and high density of development kept costs down and prices here started at £55,000 for a studio and helped hundreds get on the property ladder.

The judges thought Debut a well-thought-out option for first-time buyers, and they also approved of combining the cost of services, insurance and maintenance charges into a monthly bill to help often unsophisticated purchasers.

Another 106 Debut properties have just got planning permission, although this time with a more traditional exterior.
