At your service, sir
WEST PROPERTIES: Attention to detailDEVELOPERS are having to work harder to attract city centre tenants and now one is offering the ultimate lifestyle luxury – your own butler.
West Properties now includes the service as part of the rent in its Skyline Central scheme in Rochdale Road which means tenants get their bins emptied – and even their beds made up – on a daily basis.
They can also buy extra levels of service ranging from apartment cleaning to car valeting, errands around town and dinner party arranging.
It is being provided not by an army of Mrs Mopps but be-suited butlers Ryan Farber and Paul Cserpnyak who have been in the hospitality industry for seven years. They lived in West’s Lumiere scheme before moving to Skyline.
Ryan said: “We knew the standards they expected and we also knew the sort of services that would make residents’ lives a lot easier and more comfortable.”
But is it more than just a gimmick and do you end up paying for the privileges in rent anyway?
Well, two-beds here are currently £895 a month which is about par for the city centre and you also get to use the pool and gym on the 20th floor. Ben Richardson, from West Properties, said: “We have always said we would aspire to provide a five-star lifestyle and this is the final piece of the jigsaw. It is not about making a profit, it is about providing a quality service for residents.”
More practically, it means that if rubbish is being taken out daily and disposed of properly and the apartments are being cleaned efficiently then the buildings are better maintained.
