Sian's new face of Channel M

Sian Astley

THE female developer who famously clashed with Channel 4’s Sarah Beeny can now have the last word.

For Sian Astley has just been appointed as the main presenter of Channel M’s Homesearch, the only show dedicated to property in and around Manchester.

Sian, who has done regular style slots since the show began last summer takes over as main presenter from Becky Want and plans to bring her 10 ten years of developing experience to the programme.

Having done it all herself she is not afraid to speak her mind and boldly ignored Beeny’s advice when one of her projects was featured.

Sian said: “It’s been really enjoyable presenting the weekly style sections, and I’m delighted to have been asked to front the show.

“Though my team on site do tell me it’s just an excuse to get out of painting and filling skips! I’m hoping to inject a bit of fun into what is a great subject.” The weekly show features exciting new residential developments in the Greater Manchester area, as well as interior design slots, interviews with property specialists, and debates on hot property topics

Producer Michael Wray said: “Property is in Sian’s blood and she will bring her ‘back to bricks’ knowledge of renovations and the local property market to the show as she has so much experience of buying, selling and renting.”

The show will also be following the progress of Sian’s latest renovation project so viewers can see for themselves what pitfalls to avoid and pick up useful tips.
