Black is back home

Black homeware is definitely a strong new spring trend so there are quite a few shops stocking products at the moment. However, moderation is the key to success unless you want to give your home a raunchy boudoir look.

If you enjoy hosting parties and want your guests to feel ultra chic, why not splash out with an elegant black Tukka candelabra from Habitat for £20 and Greta wine goblets at £3.50 each?

The shop also has a Fringe curtain for £35, a funky pac-man style lamp for £75, a gloss double photo frame for just eight quid and an 80cm-high slender vase for £50. The Pier, which has a department in Debenhams as well as a store in The Trafford Centre, sells a variety of swanky black products including embossed floral storage boxes costing £20-30, picture frames for £12, glass vases ranging from £15-30 and a black and white blossom cushion for £30.

If you're looking for some really stylish products, it's definitely worth checking out John Lewis in Cheadle and The Trafford Centre, too.

The stores stock a fabulous range of gorgeous black products - my favourite is the £80 Suzie chandelier which will make an instant statement in any room.

But as well as selling light fixtures, the department stores also boast vases from just £15, floral mono cushions for £25, Lucian Taylor black and silver dining accessories from £90 and Eva Zeisel's Noir collection tea sets which start at £7 for a saucer.

Heal's, on New Cathedral Street, is also worth a peak for its black homeware range which includes a Marie dining table for £2,875, a lace wall clock and mirror for £18 and £30 respectively and photo frames from just £6. The shop also sells wool rugs for £275 and vases from £35.

If you're shopping on a shoestring, you don't have to worry about missing out as TK Maxx also sells some great accessories for under a tenner.

You can buy black glass wine goblets with twisty stems for £2.99 as well as a stylish black and white diamond-patterned vase and a Buddah head ornament for just £9.99 each.
