Spotlight on Eccles

WHERE:
Five miles west of Manchester, Eccles sits between the Manchester Ship Canal and the Bridgewater Canal. Home to famous cakes of the same name, Eccles and its surrounding area have played an important part in Manchester’s history.

WHY:
The town has recently undergone a multi-million pound facelift, which includes a new Morrison's superstore, West One shopping complex, Metrolink station, town centre by-pass and new bus interchange. Eccles has a lot of atmosphere especially around the Church Street area, which is home to a number of restaurants and bars. The Trafford Centre is just a few miles away, although the town centre has a small selection of shops including Boots.

WHO:
The different styles of property on offer mean there’s something for everyone. The more expensive properties can be found in the green and leafy area of Ellesmere Park. Monton Road and village are full of bars and restaurants making them popular with young people. 

TRANSPORT:
The M602 motorway links Eccles to the M60, the M62 and the national motorway network. Manchester Airport is just eight miles away. The Metrolink and a regular train service ensure commuters have speedy access to the city centre.
