MANCHESTER United are already champions, but some of their oldest supporters were having a second celebration.
The club is now offering pensioners a half-price discount on season tickets as part of a plan to reward some of Old Trafford's longest-serving fans.
The move has been backed by the Manchester United Supporters Association has been welcomed by dyed-in-the-wool reds Austin and Alma Ward.
The Cadishead couple, aged 75 and 74, have only missed a handful of matches in 50 years and are already waiting for the new season to begin.
Affordable
Grandma Mrs Ward said: "We love Manchester United and we're going to keep going to games as long as we can. We've been able to get cheap bus tickets and other discounts for ages, but now our season tickets will be much more affordable as well."
Mrs Ward and her husband go to every home game with their two sons and their three grandchildren.
Her mother, Millie, was such a big fan that she had a birthday party at the ground on her 100th birthday.
The club gave pensioners a 30 percent discount last year but will now be offering half price tickets to watch the champs next season.
Club spokesman Paddy Harverson said:
"We thought it would be a great way of rewarding some of our longest-serving supporters."
