ONE of the most sought after commodities on the market due to the club's long-standing popularity - Manchester United Football Club tickets fall into three categories.
General sale, One United and season ticket holders only.
The first of these is a rare occurrence due to demand.
The general sale tickets, which can be bought by the public without application, tend to be made available for less popular matches such as games against less popular opposition, pre-season friendlies and testimonial games.
One United is a membership scheme run by the club in order to provide fans who sign up to it the best opportunity of buying tickets for the all the big games.
By paying to join the scheme you are automatically added to the waiting list for a Manchester United season ticket, given the chance to apply for tickets to home FA Premier League games, allowed free access to home reserve team games and get a 10 per cent discount in the club shop.
Finally, the Manchester United season ticket is the most difficult of all three options to come by.
To their credit, the club has recognised this fact and, after expanding their Old Trafford stadium's capacity to over 76,000, the club now has over 50,000 season ticket holders.
On top of this they have also introduced the One Season Ticket programme, which enables fans to buy a ticket to watch the club's home games for one season only and also be given the opportunity to buy a proper season ticket later down the line should the option arise.
Tickets can be bought either over the phone or in person at the ground. For all the latest news on Manchester United check out ManchesterOnline's United section.
