THE new Ford Focus has been voted Car of the Year by Auto Express magazine. The latest version of the UK's top-selling car was a clear winner in the awards which are based on vehicles' practicality, value for money, performance, handling and safety.
"The launch of a car as vital as the Ford Focus is always a big occasion," said Auto Express editor in chief, David Johns.
"There are so many questions to be answered - will it live up to expectations? Will buyers flock to it? How will it cope in day-to-day conditions?
"It's a nerve-wracking time for any car firm, but we have a sneaking suspicion Ford was pretty relaxed about the whole affair. We reckon the giant car firm already knew it had a cracking new compact family car on its hands.
