I AM interested in making contact with various relatives of my Lincolnshire cousin who had the surname Pocklington. During the mid-19th century various family members followed the industrial revolution to move to the north west (Lancashire/Cheshire).I would like to know more about: Joseph Nelsey Pocklington (1825-96), rector of St Michael’s Church, Salford, and his nephew of the same name (1856-1899) of Juniper Street, Hulme; Freya Elizabeth Pocklington, born 1984, Lancaster, artist, probably a granddaughter of Harold Pocklington (1911-? ).I believe there are other family members recently living in the Manchester area who may wish to make contact: William A. Pocklington of Oldham, who married a Kershaw in 1983; Stuart Pocklington who married a Kent in Oldham in 1976; Melita P, who married a Thompson in Oldham in 1980 and Sheila P., who married a Turner in Oldham in 1973.

June Lawson (Lidgard)
I AM researching the Lidgard family history. My late father’s name was Charles Nicholson Lidgard, born in 1895 and died in 1941. The Lidgards originated in Lincolnshire and many emigrated to New Zealand in the 1800s. I have a contact in New Zealand (Cindy) who has been of great help and the tree now covers 1700 up to the 20th century, but I have been unable to trace my great-grandparents. Cindy suggested I try to contact Barry Gilbert who lives in Manchester whose mother was Marjorie Lidgard. I believe there are a few Lidgards in Manchester.
