Staff blamed over infections

HOSPITAL staff failed to clean bedpans and commodes during a spot-check.

Workers at Stockport Foundation Trust, which runs Stepping Hill Hospital, were not properly trained in decontamination processes according to a team of inspectors from government watchdog the Healthcare Commission.

 

Trust in toy u-turn

HEALTH bosses have ordered replacement toys for doctors' waiting rooms after existing ones were removed because it was feared they posed an infection risk. As revealed in the M.E.N, Trafford Primary Care Trust told staff to get rid of the toys and advised GPs to do the same.
