Tall twins head for record books

IDENTICAL twins Thomas and James Mollekin always stand out in a crowd. And now, at 6ft 10in, they believe they may have grown their way into the record books.

The country's tallest twins are currently recognised as Andrew and Timothy Hull, 6ft 9in and 6ft 10in respectively. But the 21-year-old Mollekin brothers, who live with their parents in Little Lever, Bolton,plan to officially challenge for the title.

Thomas said: "We always knew we were very tall, but it was only recently when we started looking on the internet that we realised we were the tallest in the UK."

He added: "Most people have a growth spurt in their teens, but we didn't stop growing."

The twins, who both study business at Bolton University, sleep in specially-made, 7ft-long beds and wear size 13 shoes.
