Soccer stars back kit to be seen in

FOOTBALL stars are advising their young fans on what to wear off the pitch.

Manchester City manager Kevin Keegan and players David James and Robbie Fowler are supporting a campaign to encourage children to make sure they wear visible clothing when crossing the road in the dark.

David and Robbie posed for pictures alongside schoolboy Joe Prestage, wearing a somewhat over-sized high-visibility vest.

Research suggests children can be almost five times as visible to drivers in low beam headlights if they wear reflective clothing.

Children at 83 primary schools in Manchester are being issued with reflective and fluorescent stickers as part of the campaign.
