Clooney reassures fans

GEORGE Clooney would like to reassure fans that he is not thinking of killing himself.

The movie star told how a spinal injury, sustained while filming his spy thriller Syriana, was so bad that he thought he could not live with the pain. He said at one point it was so unbearable that "you'll have to kill yourself at some point. You can't live like this".

Once word of his apparent intended suicide started to circulate he felt he had to set the record straight. "I was talking about living for years in that sort of pain," he says. Phew.
