NEWLY WED - AND KNIGHTED: David Jason
Actor Sir David Jason and his long-term partner Gill Hinchcliffe married yesterday in a secret ceremony, they revealed today.

The couple, who have a daughter Sophie Mae who is nearly five, were married in front of 12 family and friends at the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, central London.

The new wife of one of Britain's best loved actors, who played the Cockney wheeler dealer Del Boy in the hit show Only Fools And Horses, announced the news as Sir David collected his knighthood from the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

She said as she was having photos taken outside: "We got married yesterday at The Dorchester in a most beautiful suite. It was intimate and very romantic.

"Some of the guests didn't even know. It was a very low-key surprise."

She showed off her platinum diamond wedding band.
