Fern tops 'most envied' poll

The mother of four, whose celebrity chef husband Phil Vickery recently hit out at critics of her size 18 figure, came first in a poll which asked which celebrity people would most like to switch lives with.

In a selection that must have stunned pollsters, British men chose Ashes hero and pace bowler Andrew Flintoff as the star they would most like to be.

Second places went to X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne and actor Tom Cruise, whose enviable status has not been harmed by a spate of bizarre outbursts last year.

Respondents were also asked which celebrity's physique they would most like to possess and, while women might not particularly admire waif-thin Victoria, her husband David and heartthrob Brad Pitt have the best bodies according to the men.

Meanwhile, for women it is Hollywood stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angelina Jolie, Pitt's partner, whose bodies are most coveted.

The poll, commissioned by Boots to coincide with a campaign about motivation behind New Year's resolutions, found that while over 80 per cent of Britons pledge they will improve some aspect of their life at the turn of the year, 70pc of these resolutions are abandoned on January 1.
