Police want to interview Kate Moss

SUPERMODEL Kate Moss has been urged to use a request to return to the UK to answer police questions over her alleged drug abuse as a public relations opportunity to repair her reputation.

Publicist Max Clifford said the model could turn the scandal to her advantage.

"This is an opportunity to enhance her reputation and become even more successful," he said.

"We, as a nation, would appreciate that she has come back and stood up and - as long as she is sincere - she could definitely turn a minus into a plus."

The 31-year-old model has been dogged by questions over her alleged cocaine use after being caught on camera apparently using the class A drug in a west London music studio in September.

Arizona

She has since been in rehab in Arizona, and was pictured earlier this week skiing in Aspen, Colorado. She is now thought to be making plans to settle in Los Angeles with her three-year-old daughter, Lila Grace.

Moss was asked to come back to Britain by Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur, who said he wanted the model to tell police "her side of the story".

The senior officer made his plea in The Sun newspaper, and said: "For everybody's sake, and for her to move on, the sooner she speaks to us the better.

"We wish for the investigation to take its course, and she would be dealt with very fairly and proportionately, as would be the case with anybody else."

If Moss were to return, it would the first time she had been back to the UK since photographs of the alleged drug taking were published. It is understood that the model would not be arrested, but rather interviewed under caution by appointment.
