Louis backs Richard for great success

LOUIS believes Coronation Street's singing sensation Richard Fleeshman (right) can combine an acting and pop career to great success. Although Louis was out of the country when Richard, who plays Craig Harris, won Soapstar Superstar on ITV, he says he has heard "great things" about the youngster from the show's judge, Billy Sammeth.

Since winning, speculation has been mounting that Richard may be lured away from Corrie for a pop career. But Louis says: "I think he could do both - Kylie did it with Neighbours, and I think initially Richard could do that too. It would be great for Manchester if you had both Richard and Shayne in the charts."
