Dame Kelly slides off show

VOTED OFF: Dame Kelly Holmes and Todd Sand
VOTED OFF: Dame Kelly Holmes and Todd Sand
DOUBLE Olympic gold medallist Kelly Holmes was eliminated from the Dancing On Ice show on Saturday night.

The runner was unanimously voted out of the ITV hit series by the judges after a skate-off with Bonnie Langford.

Following the judges' verdicts, a disappointed Kelly said: "I pretty much expected it to be honest.

"Obviously Bonnie has been doing very well and is very popular with the judges and when it is down to the judges you pretty much know what is going to happen."

But the real talking point of tonight's show was the injury David Seaman's skating partner, Pam O'Connor, sustained just one hour before going on air.

While rehearsing their routine, Pam fell face first into the ice rink while being spun round by the former Arsenal and England goalkeeper.

Fall

She sustained a gash to her chin which later required a number of stitches in hospital. She also had an X-Ray after hitting her shoulder hard in the fall.

Unable to perform on the night, the programme's bosses decided to give David and Pam a bye through to next week's show after consulting fellow contestants.

David Seaman said: "Pam is not too good. She has quite a few stitches under her chin and her shoulder is not as bad as first thought."

A spokeswoman for ITV said: "Pam is currently in hospital and she is going to be OK. David and Pam will be automatically carried through to the next round."
