Delight for X Factor reject Maria

NEW DEAL: Maria

MARIA Lawson, the X Factor star who was controversially booted off the ITV talent show, has signed a record deal.

Louis Walsh, a judge in the show, caused an outcry by choosing the Conway Sisters over her.

London-born Maria, has had the last laugh by signing with Sony BMG subsidiary Phonogenic after four major labels offered her deals.

Her debut album, which she has started to write, will be recorded in LA and is due out in September following the release of a single.
