Stone gives peace a chance

BASIC Instinct star Sharon Stone today said she "would kiss just about anybody" if it would put an end to conflict in the Middle East.

The actress is in Israel on a five-day trip sponsored by the Peres Centre for Peace, which was founded by Nobel Peace laureate Shimon Peres to improve relations with Arabs.

He joined Stone at a press conference, where she said that although she could not solve the problems between Israel and the Palestinians, her fame could help encourage peace efforts.

"I would kiss just about anybody for peace in the Middle East," the 47-year-old said.

But despite her pledge she refused to give Peres a peck on the cheek.

Stone also said more women should become involved in the male-dominated world of Middle East peace talks, because women are better than men at considering thoughts and feelings than men.
