Central role for Sun

31/ 8/2004

CITY'S Jihai Sun will rise up the pitch to midfield tonight as Kevin Keegan shuffles his pack in the reserve match against Blackburn.

The 26-year-old will move to a holding role in the centre of midfield as the Blues boss tries out the new position for the Chinese international.

Keegan had signalled his intentions of using the player in a holding role at the start of the season, but this will be his first opportunity to test it since Jihai Sun's return from international duty.

"I know he can play right back, centre back and left back but I want now to try him in midfield," said Keegan.

The defender was drafted into the first team starting line up at Birmingham which was his first and only appearance of the season so far.

City's new Dutch keeper Ronald Waterreus will make his Blues debut in the second string match against Rovers at the Regional Athletics Stadium tonight.

"Ronald Waterreus will play in the reserves as he needs games since he has not played for a while.

"But we have left out Paddy McCarthy and Willo Flood as the two are joining up with the Republic of Ireland squad on Wednesday and it would be crazy to play them," added Kevin Keegan.

Offensive or Inappropriate?

ha ha ha ha ha ha a bit more different than our new WONDER BOY Wayne Rooney isn't it? The Croxteth marvel can play in midfield as well! Whilst Keegan has no money to spend or WASTE should I say SAF has millions at his disposal, however he also has a very successful Academy and Keegan hasn't! In two seasons from now all the aging City players will have gone and their Academy in ruins, the reds meanwhile will have picked up a couple of trophies with a new batch of youngsters coming through, CITY will have nothing,HENCE mediocrity, failure and RELEGATION,its all down to how good or how BAD your management is, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
