Stockport 1 Barnet 1

14/11/2005

COUNTY remain in the League Two relegation dogfight after failing to hold on for all three points against Barnet.

County had taken a 15th minute lead against the Londoners - but it lasted just two minutes to leave County rueing their 10th draw in 17 matches.

Stockport opened the scoring after some good work by Harpal Singh. His ball down the left found Jermaine Easter, who set up Matt Hamshaw with a long cross for the opener.

However, Barnet hit back when Louie Soars dispossessed Danny Boshell, and his cross found the shin of Jason Norville for the equaliser.

Fist time I have seen Stockport this season because I no longer waste my weekends. First impressions - no surprise they are close to rock bottom as that defence is a shambles. What are you doing in training Turner? We were lucky not be be 3 down after 4 mins due to an inability to stop crosses. I have never seen so many crosses from an away team. It was clear to see after 10 mins that there was a major problem down our right flank from Soares but it takes a half time team talk to put this right. It could have been far too late by then. A point gained I would say as the better team got on a coach going South. No desire to come back as yet as I can watch pub football up here.

Offensive or Inappropriate?

Its a pity we cant play with any consistancy one game to another, what happens when the team go out , do they forget everything they are told. It looks that way, the defence is a shambles, no cover, little idea of how to shut opposing players out of the game, and the number of times they made no attempt to cut off the supply of crosses into the box from Barnet beggars belief. On balance a fair result ? probably, but another 2 points wasted, time is going fast. Any takers on the conferance next year?
